Kim’s 30+ years of experience includes both broadcast network news production, and corporate story telling beginning with ABC News. Her expertise focuses on lifting policy off the page translating complex policy issues such as health, economic security, aging, future of work, and civic engagement into compelling, accessible content.
Winner of more than 45 industry awards, these include an Emmy, CINE Golden Eagles, New York Film Festival Medals, Gracie Awards, Communicator, Share Care and Anthem Awards, among others. Kim’s talent for leading and managing successful production teams is notable. In 2025, AARP Policy Now,a video series created, developed and produced by Kim, received a Gold Anthem for best in video news journalism.
As a former Executive Producer with AARP, she’s been at the helm of developing and leading award-winning productions for PBS, NBC’s Today Show, Library of Congress, and Discovery. Kim produced, Your Life Calling, a series on TODAY, hosted by Emmy Award winning journalist Jane Pauley, sponsored by AARP, which resulted in a NYT bestseller further exploring the issues of 50+ second careers and purpose. The series repositioned Pauley’s career after which she became the host of CBS Sunday Morning.
During the Obama administration, Kim was tapped to be an Encore Innovation Fellow to the 2015 White House Conference on Aging. She traveled the country producing stories focusing on healthy aging, long term care, and financial exploitation.
Kim holds a B.A. in both Communications and Political science from DePauw University and a M.A. in Journalism & Public Affairs from American University.
